Praise
the LORD, all nations; Laud Him, all peoples! For His lovingkindness is great
toward us, and the truth of the LORD is everlasting. Praise the LORD!
Psalm
117
You probably know the abbreviation 'PTL!'. It stands for, 'Praise the Lord!' But how many times do we actually use that without actually praising Him? He deserves our praise and our admiration - our all, in fact. The Bible says a lot about praising the Lord. Chapters and chapters are devoted to praising Him, especially in the Psalms, as today's passage shows. Psalms 146 and 150 begin with 'Praise the Lord' and end with 'Praise the Lord'. Really, everything should begin with praising the Lord, and everything should end with praising the Lord. He is the Beginning and the End of everything.
In the book of Psalms alone the word 'praise' is used 147+ times. That's approximately once every chapter - sometimes more.
Praise
the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise
Him in His mighty expanse.
Praise
Him for His mighty deeds;
Praise
Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise
him with trumpet sound;
Praise
Him with harp and lyre.
Praise
him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise
Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
Praise
Him with loud cymbals;
Praise
Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything
that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise
the Lord!
Psalm 150
We should do everything, praising the Lord!
